Lawn Signs

Delegate Doyle Niemann is not a big fan of lawn signs.  In 2002 and 2006, he refused to put any up. "I would like to think that people will be voting on the record of the candidates and their ability to get things done rather than on how many signs they have posted up," Doyle says.  But in response to popular demand – and the advice of his campaign workers – Doyle has relented and for 2010, he has lawn signs.

"I’ve been convinced that the signs do increase name awareness and do affect votes," Doyle concedes.  "So I am encouraging people to put signs up in their yards."

Balancing Budgets & Cutting Taxes

In the House, Doyle has helped balance the budget every year, cutting billions in spending from the state budget while preserving basic funding for schools and other critical programs.  He cut the income tax for working families by raising the standard deduction.  This year, he was the House sponsor of legislation that could cut hundreds of dollars from the property tax bills of homeowners eligible for the Homestead Tax Credit.
